The Riata Championship is the richest and largest Ariat World Series of Team Roping qualifier on the calendar, offering $1.8 million in added money and more than $4 million projected in total payout.
New in 2025, Riata (opens in a new tab) has expanded age eligibility with the 7 & Under incentive in the #9.5; now allowing three total entries per roper per Championship (with at least one incentive entry); refined formats across all divisions to keep rounds moving faster and horses fresh; and $50,000 guaranteed to first in the incentives.

The Riata isn’t just big—it’s smart. With stallion nominations driving the incentive pool, Riata has created a system that pays off across divisions. You don’t have to be a pro to win big. These ropings are timed, and all ages of horses are welcome.
This is a roping that:
• Pays deep, with $200,000 added in every Riata Championship
• $50,000 added to each first-place Riata Champion team
• Gives $50,000 guaranteed incentives to 6 & Under and 7 & Under horses in the #10.5 and #9.5
• $20,000 to high-earning Riata horse in every Ariat WSTR Super Qualifier
Regular entries for the Riata Championships close Sept. 1, 2025. Late entries close Sept. 19, 2025.
