South Point has more than 3,300 stalls and several parking lots, and the stall crew has a system for getting you to yours. Follow the signed routes and stop at every checkpoint. Your stall assignment and a property map come with your draw-position letter.

Arriving
Stalls open at noon Pacific on Wednesday, December 2. Early arrivals and extra stall requests can’t be accommodated. If you’ll get in after barn hours, plan to park overnight at the Celebrity Lot (about two miles south of South Point) or elsewhere; nightly rentals there start Tuesday, December 1.
Pull in from Las Vegas Boulevard southbound and turn right on W. Pyle Avenue, the second street south of the Grandview Hotel. Staff and check stations direct you from there.
Do not enter with a trailer from Le Baron Avenue. There is no barn access from that road, and turning a trailer around there is very difficult.
Stick your parking pass to the windshield so it is visible and can’t be shared; it gets you through the checkpoints faster. Hotel valet parking is available.
Where you stall
Barns A and B (indoor)
- Turn west on W. Pyle Avenue, then right on Team Roping Blvd. Stop at the checkpoint for your parking pass, then go on to Barn A or Barn B to unload. Stall workers, many of them Finale veterans, will help you unload and show you to your stall. Only Barn A and B ropers may drive north on Team Roping Blvd.
- Barn A & B parking: after unloading, your concierge or security will direct you to park in the appropriate parking area.
Centex Lot (outdoor)
- Turn west on W. Pyle Avenue, then left (south) on Parvin Street into the Centex Lot, next to the Jackpot Arena. Stop at the checkpoint trailer for your stall assignment.
- There is no extra event-grounds parking for Centex contestants. If you unhook, park your truck in a designated hotel lot.
Farnam stalls (outdoor)
- The Farnam stalls are now in the former trailer-drop area, just south of the Farnam Arena and behind the Grandview. Turn west on W. Pyle Avenue and stop at the checkpoint for your assignment.
Outdoor stalls: good to know
- Centex and Farnam stalls aren’t pre-assigned. To stall near a partner, arrive together.
- There are no tack stalls in the outdoor lots; you’ll have your trailer. Indoor and outdoor ropers may not share a tack stall.
- The stalls run in three one-way rows. Follow the signs and park where you’re told; you’ll be close enough to feed, saddle and ride to the arena.
- You may saddle at your trailer, but horses may not be left tied anywhere on South Point property.
Nightly rentals at Celebrity Ranch
- Panel stalls two miles south of South Point, first come, first served: for ropers without a reservation, needing an extra stall, or wanting a quieter setup.
- $50 per night. WSTR contestants only. Dry camping: no RV hookups or water connections. A water truck fills horse buckets daily.
- Because of highway construction between South Point and Celebrity Ranch, you can’t ride between the two.
Tack stalls (Barns A and B)
- Tack stalls are pre-assigned to specific ropers in each barn block, six to seven users each. Don’t share with partners who aren’t listed, or with outdoor contestants. Your assignment is in your packet; to reach the ropers sharing your tack stall, call WSTR at (505) 898-1755 or ask at the Stall Office when you arrive.
- If you arrive first and lock the tack stall, leave the combination with WSTR staff in the Stall Office so the others can get in. WSTR can’t mediate disputes or cut locks unless it has to, and a locked tack stall won’t excuse a turnout.
Hotel check-in in the barn
If you stall in Barn A or B, you can check into your South Point room at the Barn A Stall Office, next to the Tractor Supply feed store: Wednesday, December 2, noon to 6 PM, then Thursday, December 3 to Wednesday, December 9, 10 AM to 6 PM (Pacific). Bell staff will take your luggage to your room, so you can settle your horses and park first.
Driving alone? Check in at the hotel front desk instead; a long stop blocks the unloading area.
Day trippers
- You’re a day tripper if your horse is stalled anywhere other than South Point’s indoor stalls, the Farnam stalls or the Centex Lot stalls.
- $20 per vehicle per day (card or exact cash) for anyone without a Finale stall at the Celebrity Lot or Horseman’s Park. If you rent at either, staff put a location sticker on your vehicle and you use the day-tripper lot free.
- Enter from W. Pyle Avenue, two streets south of the Grandview, and go to the signed lot on the right. The lot is one-way.
- Lead or ride to the Equestrian Center on the marked path: west on W. Pyle Avenue toward the freeway, then right on Team Roping Blvd. Never ride through the Grandview Hotel parking lot. The Grandview lets us use its lot because many contestants stay there, and no horses are allowed in it.
Barn hours
Every stall location keeps these hours.
| Wednesday, December 2 | Noon – 10 PM |
| Thursday, December 3 – Friday, December 4 | 7 AM – 10 PM |
| Saturday, December 5 – Thursday, December 10 | 7 AM – 9 PM |
| Friday, December 11 – Saturday, December 12 | 7 AM – 8 PM |
| Sunday, December 13 | 5 AM – 5 PM |
| Monday, December 14 | 5 AM – 10 AM |
All horses must be out by 10 AM on Monday, December 14. Hours extend 30 minutes if competition runs late. If you arrive after hours, plan on other accommodations for the night.
Refunds
Due to advance stall costs, no refunds will be issued for cancelled stalls after November 12. Stalls are sold by the week. You may arrive early or depart later than your scheduled roping date at no extra cost. No subletting or partial refunds for late or early departures are permitted.
Stall theft
The barns are under 24-hour video surveillance, and there is zero tolerance for using a stall you didn’t rent. If a “borrowed” stall is found, the whole team is drawn out; the offending roper is withdrawn from every division, forfeits all entries except a $400 stall fee, and is ineligible to compete the following year.
Shavings and feed
Each stall comes with the equivalent of four bags of shavings, and any shavings you pre-purchased will be waiting in your stall. Buy more from South Point Tractor Supply (Barn A), the NRS Tack Shack (next to the outside qualifier arena) or the Celebrity Lot stall rental office. Outside shavings are not permitted. Clark County regulations require all shavings to be disposed of through approved vendors only.
| Store | Where | Hours | Pickup or delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tractor Supply | Next to the Stall Office, Barn A | Wed, Dec 2: noon – 8 PM Other days: 7 AM – 7 PM | Delivery to indoor stalls |
| Outdoor Feed Store | Southwest end of the Centex Lot | Wed, Dec 2: noon – 4 PM Other days: 8 AM – 4 PM | Delivery to outdoor stalls |
Warm-up arenas
The warm-up arenas open at 7 AM and close at the end of each day’s event. There are three: the Priefert Warm-Up Arena (indoor), the arena between the Main and Priefert arenas, and the outdoor warm-up arena next to the Farnam Arena.
- Priefert Warm-Up Arena: only ropers in the active rotation, plus the next rotation from 30 minutes before its start time.
- Etiquette: walkers on the inside circle, in the same direction as everyone else (usually counter-clockwise); lopers and trotters on the outside; no more than two abreast. Step out of the pen to visit or rest.
- Don’t camp out with saddled horses in or around the arenas, and don’t tie or linger with horses inside the facilities. Any horse still tied in an arena 30 minutes after the short round will be moved by security and locked in a stall.
Health papers
The Nevada Livestock Board requires proof of ownership, a negative Coggins test within 12 months and a health certificate within 30 days. If you’re coming from a non-brand state, you can buy permanent hauling papers from the Nevada Livestock Board for a nominal fee.
Equine influenza is the most common problem seen every year. It is highly contagious and preventable: Dr. Ellis Farstvedt of Performance Equine Specialists recommends vaccinating at least five days before you travel. Immunity lasts about six months.
Have your Coggins, health certificate and brand or ownership papers ready before you leave home.
