Tyrel Wesley "Ty" Campbell May 20, 1982 - October 8, 2024 After a brave fight against cancer, Tyrel Wesley Campbell went to his lord on October 8, 2024, at the age of 42 years young.
Tyrel was born May 20, 1982, to James and Janet Campbell in Corpus Christi, and raised nearby in Ingleside and Bayside. Much of his youth was spent riding horses, roping, and making memories with his siblings, cousins, and an abundance of friends. As the years passed, his love for riding and roping grew exponentially. Ty would rope anything and everything, including emus, gators, and even family!
Tyrel had one lifetime goal: to qualify for and win the World Series Las Vegas Finale! He spent his teen years cultivating this dream in the High School Rodeo, the Texas Youth Rodeo Association, and attending any roping event he could convince his mother to take him to. In 2000, Ty graduated from Woodsboro High School. The following year, he attended the National American University in Rapid City, South Dakota, on a roping scholarship.
Tyrel's real adventure began when he returned from South Dakota and met the love of his life, Stormi. Captivated by one another, the young couple married August 29, 2009, and had three beautiful children: Paisley (13), Cypress (11), and Tell (8). Ty treasured every opportunity to be with his children and wife. More often than not, if Tyrel was spotted running around town, his children were happily in tow.
In early 2020, Tyrel and Stormi moved their family to Graham. At that time, he worked in the oil and gas industry, which often forced him to travel for work. Undeterred, Ty continued to nurture his lifetime goal and roped every opportunity he could. In 2021, Tyrel and his cousin Mac finally qualified for the World Series Finale. That December, the pair went to Las Vegas and won the #8.5!
Tyrel transitioned from working in the West Texas oilfield in 2023, when he started a land management company, enabling him to spend more time with his beloved family. Tyrel and Stormi worked together to build Lochland Farm & Ranch Solutions, strengthening their partnership and family bond.
Tyrel's passion for life followed him wherever he went. His honesty, work ethic, and humor brought the best out of those around him. Because of this endearing quality, Ty made friends quickly and all over Texas. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side, continuing to stay positive and humorous until the end. Tyrel is and will continue to be missed dearly, as his passing has left a void in many hearts.
Tyrel is survived by his wife Stormi and children Paisley, Cypress, and Tell; parents James and Janet Campbell; siblings Joshua Campbell (Cheryl) and Megan Brooks (Micheal); mother-in-law Lori Whipkey; sister-in-law Wendi Kotal (Dennis); nieces and nephews Reagan Campbell, Cole Campbell, Karson Brooks, Presli Brooks, and Virgil Kotal; uncles and aunts Charlie Campbell (Cecilia), David Campbell (Quana), Vincent Campbell (Deborah), Pete Campbell, Edith West, Helene Kelly, Belinda Jones (Bobby), and Shari Barta; grandfather Charlie Martin (Carol); as well as many loved cousins. Ty was preceded in death by his grandmothers Joyce Martin and Mary "Pinky" Campbell; grandfather Douglas Campbell; uncles Jesse Wesley Martin, David Wayne West, and Mike Kelley; and cousin Daron Campbell.
To honor Tyrel, he would ask you to carry on, have a good time, love your family, and remember to laugh.
