Troy D. Whited, 55, of Lincoln, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2023, at York General Hospital. He was born on Nov. 24, 1967, in North Platte, the son of Don Whited and Donna (Neal) Campbell. Troy grew up in Tryon and went to school there until the 1st grade when the family moved to North Platte. He attended grade school and junior high in North Platte and then returned to Tryon, graduating from McPherson County High School in 1986. He provided good horses for them to ride and always attended all their high school and collegiate rodeos as well as countless team ropings. He was a member of the United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC), Mid States Rodeo Association and the Nebraska State Rodeo Association. Troy loved spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, Troy was proud of his sons and loved them more than anything in the world.
