Jimmy R. Harp, 71, of Grandview, Arkansas, passed away July 2, 2023. He
was born March 19, 1952, in his grandmother's house in Madison County to
the late Betty and Junior (Woods) Harp. He resided in Grandview on his
cattle farm and graduated from Berryville High School.
As a small boy
he helped his Dad in the log woods, and then drove a truck for
Powell's. He was a mailman and cattle hauler, but his passion in life
was being a cattle farmer. He loved to hay and work on his farm. His
favorite pastime was team roping with his friends. He was a man of his
word and a very honest person. If he told you he would do something, he
did it! He was never late for anything he did.
He loved life and he
loved his Grandson Jaxston very much. As soon as he was big enough to
stand his Papa had him roping. Jimmy, Jaxston and Jaxston's favorite
horse had such a wonderful time together. Jimmy and Jaxston went to
every play day at the Cowboy Church. They played a lot of basketball and
worked in the shop - they liked to build stuff!
Survivors include
his partner Ruth Hill, son James (Bucky) Harp and daughter Bailey Grady,
Ruth's children Jeremy Hill, Rhonda Harp, and Jake Hill, five
grandchildren (Tori, Callie, Kolby, Riley, and Jaxston), and two great
grandchildren (Karson and Joseph). He is also survived by his sister
Sharon and her husband L.N. Burch. He was preceded in death by his
sister Doris and her husband Dearl Wilson.
