Wayne Edgar Jones, 87, of Harrah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2021, with his wife, Debbie, by his side.
Wayne was born May 23, 1934, to Raymond and Cleo (Thompson) Jones. Wayne worked hard and played hard too. He was a well-known land developer and a building contractor. He loved to fly and earned his private pilot's license in 1961. He owned and flew his own plane until 2013. When not flying he enjoyed snow skiing and showing off his dancing skills. He always enjoyed raising cattle but, above all else, he loved being a cowboy! At age 60 he won 2 horse trailers and 3 belt buckles while team roping. He cherished and loved his family, friends and living life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cleo Jones, brothers, Bill Jones, Monte Jones, James R. Jones and Jackie Jones; daughter, Donita Jones; son, Michael Jones; granddaughter, Kyla Jones; first wife, Donna Jones and a special uncle Wayne E. Jones.
He is survived by wife, Debbie Shaw Jones, of the home; son, Bobby Jones and wife, Sandy, of Pink, OK; son, Monte Don Jones and wife, Genny, of Murray, Utah; brothers-in-law, Joe Shaw, William Shaw and wife, Tina, of Pink, OK, Murray Stuart of Eufaula, OK, Wayne Davis and wife, Marilyn, of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Cecila Jones, of Del City, OK, Vickie Shaw, of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Michelle Jones and husband Justin Alexander, of Shawnee, OK, Lezlie Jones, of Norman, OK, Christopher Rowe and wife, Rose, of Shawnee, OK, and Kody Jones of Euless, TX; 9 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
