Curtis Lynn McKnight was born May 8, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Syble Gertrude (Hays) and William Curtis McKnight, and died Friday, February 6, 2026 at his residence.
Curtis owned and operated Wells Siding Company/McKnight Construction, but ranching was his passion and something he did his entire life. Curtis loved his family, his beloved wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, but most of all he loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Wells. He and his wife put on Crossfire Team Ropings where he made many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara McKnight of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Naomi McKnight of Alto; daughter, Dana McKnight and fianc%E9 Daniel Adams, Jr. of Pollok; daughter-in-law, Mechelle McKnight; grandchildren and spouses, Tyler and Brett McKnight, Colby McKnight, Jake Greenup, Swade and Corbey McKnight, Blair and Chance DelaFosse, Trey and Marcie Tomlinson, Morgan McKnight and Payton Gehrt, Haley Horn, Katy and Ross Cairnie, Meagan McKnight, Cheyenne McKnight; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Maci, Curtis Jay, Rowdy Jay, Raylen, Prairie Lynn, Bo Riley, Braxton, Brent, Carsyn Jo, Harrison, Renley, Braylee; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Roy Pinner of Huntington; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sherri and Bill Paresa of Wells, Lita Collier of Lindale; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Teresa Talancon of Jacksonville, Doug Collier of Wells, Steve Collier of Lone Oak; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis McKnight and Syble (Hays) McKnight; sons, Jason McKnight and Stacy Joe McKnight; brother, Wayne Franklin McKnight; in-laws, Joe Collier and Thelma Jean Havard; and brother-in-law, Bruce Collier.
