Highpoint Performance Horses Becomes Official
Stallion Breeding Program for Ariat World Series of Team Roping
As the premier stallion program in the country, Highpoint
Performance Horses is stepping in to support the team roping industry.
Highpoint Performance Horses is now the official stallion
breeding program of the Ariat World Series of Team Roping, marking the start of
a two-year agreement between the Western performance industry's leading
breeders and the richest recreational sport association in the world.
Highpoint Performance Horses, owned by AQHA leading trainers
Charlie Cole and Jason Martin, owns leading stallions including Winners
Version, Slick By Design and Brace For Bernal. Highpoint also stands 30
stallions, including Miles Baker's and 26-time World Champion Trevor Brazile's
stallion Show Me The Buckles.
"The ropers putting up big money to rope at the Ariat WSTR
qualifiers and Finale prioritize great horses," Lory Merritt, sales director
for the WSTR, said. "So working with the Highpoint team allows us to introduce
those ropers to the people who understand how to build those horses from the
ground up. Nobody understands those principles better than Highpoint."
Martin and Cole have over 80 AQHA world titles between them,
and in 2022 they purchased Paul Eaves' World Champion mare Docs Gunslinger
Chic, crossing her on Show Me The Buckles and Slick By Design for a 2023 foal.
"We are passionate about helping the horse industry grow and
evolve, and team roping is the leader in that growth," Martin said. "What the
World Series has done over the last 15 years has changed the sport as well as
the demand for quality horsepower to help people win hundreds of thousands over
four steers."
Highpoint will have a key booth on the concourse at the
South Point at the Ariat WSTR, where ropers can learn more about the stallions,
meet top talents who stand their horses at Highpoint, buy stallion merchandise
and book breedings for 2023.
