“Red” St Clair 1946 - 2018


“Red” St. Clair, 72 of Denair, CA, died suddenly doing what he loved best, team roping at a World Series team roping at Livermore, CA on May 13th, 2018. Moments before Red had won 2nd place in a roping and split $8,000 with his partner,  left this world a winner. Red was born in Arizona and settled in Denair in 1979.  He started The Carpet Man store in 1983. His passion was team roping since the age of 15.  Red served as past president of Turlock Horseman’s Club where he had been a member since 1979. He earned a lifetime achievement award and served as president of the American Cowboy Team Roping Association.


Red is survived by his wife Ellen St. Clair of Denair, son David St Clair, Modesto: Daughter Shelli Mendonca of Washington: two granddaughters Megan Mendonca and Danielle Bradburn both of Washington: and his sister Ann Moren of Denair.


Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Red St Clair  to California ACTRA Catastrophe Fund, 21098 Ave 328, Woodlake, CA, 93286. A Celebration of Life will be held 4pm on Friday, May 18th, 2018 at Turlock Horseman’s Club located at 1506 South Tegner Rd in Turlock.
