Hello Ropers:
The process of writing the initial set of rules for USTRC took us four years, so obviously I think there is little need to start over. We observe USTRC roping rules, with just a couple of exceptions. Obviously I don't agree with USTRC allowing cross-fire, and I don't agree with the lowered age limit on tying on. We have also set a 21 year old age minimum. It is our belief that Las Vegas is an adult locale, and in addition, 21 appears to be an age where there is a much higher probability of correct handicaps.
We use the Triad as basis for entry into our ropings, but don't always agree that certain combinations are acceptable, or not acceptable. ACTRA ropers and Wrangler ropers that have a Triad number but are not current members of USTRC, will need to verify their handicap with USTRC prior to roping. We thoroughly background ropers that we are not familiar with before allowing final entry for the big money.

Age and Caps
Priefert#11 and Bloomer Trailers #10 Qualification and Finale Contestants must be 21 years of age to enter, and ropings will be capped at a #6 for heelers. There is no number cap for headers.
Cactus #13 Qualification and Finale - Contestant must be 21 years of age and NO number cap in this Finale.
Classification Changes
USTRC Triad scale will be used as the basis for World Series events, however, we reserve the right to change classifications or draw out teams we feel are numbered incorrectly. If USTRC changes a classification during the year prior to November 1st, the team will be afforded the opportunity to move to a higher division. Teams in the #11 division that have classification increases will be afforded the opportunity to split with ? Finale entries where applicable. If USTRC changes a classification after November 1st, the roper must notify World Series of the change and decisions on whether the roper will be permitted to rope at the Finale will be made on a case by case basis.
Right to Draw Teams Out - Refuse Service
This is private Invitational event and even among qualification teams we reserve the right to change any classification that we believe threatens the integrity of this event. We reserve the right to refuse service or draw out any team for inappropriate conduct, conflicts with management and /or any classification dispute or for any other reason that cannot be settled prior to the event.
Optional Entry
At the time of payoff, a roper will receive a Finale entry form. This team will have 30 days to make a decision if they want to enter the Finale. After 30 days that spot is considered vacated and any entry received from these winners after thirty days is considered a direct entry and falls in line with other direct entries. If one partner enters and the other does not, the entering partner may find a replacement partner.
Team Count
Every effort will be made to hit our target number of 250 teams per division, however it is probable based on advertised qualifications, that the number will not be precisely 250.
Roping Rules
USTRC roping rules will be in used at these events with the following exceptions
* Cross Fire will not be permitted. Animals must be in tow before the heel rope is released.
* Dress Code will be observed at the Finale, with absolutely no short sleeve shirts.
* Tie On Age for men will be 60 years old. We reserve the right to deny the use of tie-on or reclassify tie-on ropers at any time where we believe the tie-on gives a clear advantage. We reserve the right to refuse or revoke tie-on between qualification and Finale.
* Short Rounds at qualifiers will be slow to fast to include everyone that has successfully roped 3 steers. However, qualification contractors have the option to cap the short round at 20 teams, if announced in advance.
*There shall be no "up and back" entries taken at the Finales.
