Allen Keith (Bill) Trammel 1931-2014

 

 

Allen Keith (Bill) Trammell of Tularosa passed away on 11/16/2014.  He was born 1/13/1931 to Charley Walter Trammell and Threva Mae Green Trammell in Alamogordo.  He married the love of his life, Evelyn Marr, January 27, 1952.  They had five children, Sharon Bednorz and husband Don, Melvin Glenn Trammell and wife Jo Lynn, Arlene Rowland and husband Tim, Neal Trammell and wife Cricket, and Nilda Douglas and husband Clifton. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, son, Neal, sister, Peggy Wilcox and parents.   He is survived by four children, thirteen grandchildren and 20 ½ great-grandchildren.

Bill lived his entire life in Otero County.  He and his dad were in the dairy and farming business in Tularosa.  He started work for the ASCS in 1963 where he served Otero and Lincoln county farmers and ranchers as the ASCS County Manager for over 31 years.  He continued to live and farm in Tularosa until his death.

Bill was a long time member of the NM Businessmans Team Roping Association, served on the Otero County Fair Board for over 20 years, the Otero County Fair Rodeo Committee for 30+ years and was selected for the Ring of Honor.  He was recognized by the Farm Bureau as Farmer of the Year.  Cottonwood Christian Fellowship, where Bill has served as an elder for many years, honored him in 2013 as a “Living Legend”.   He continues to be a Legend to his family and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, Nov 22,2014 at Cottonwood Christian Fellowship, 7035 Hwy 70 N, Alamogordo, NM.
